About SleepCited

Evidence-based supplement research you can trust.

Our Mission

Cited Health is an evidence-based supplement research network. We believe every health claim about dietary supplements should be backed by peer-reviewed scientific research — not marketing hype, influencer endorsements, or anecdotal testimonials. That's why every claim on our sites is cited with its source study.

Our mission is to make supplement research accessible and transparent. We systematically search PubMed for clinical trials and observational studies, extract structured data from each paper, and calculate evidence grades that tell you at a glance how strong the science really is.

What Makes Us Different

Unlike supplement review sites that rely on affiliate commissions to drive recommendations, our evidence grades are calculated algorithmically from study data. An ingredient receives an F grade when the evidence warrants it, regardless of whether we earn affiliate revenue from that product. Our grading methodology is transparent and reproducible.

Our Commitment

Every evidence grade on this site is calculated from peer-reviewed study data. Affiliate partnerships never influence our grading.

Evidence Review — PubMed systematic search methodology

Our research team conducts systematic searches of PubMed and PubMed Central to identify relevant clinical trials, meta-analyses, and observational studies for every ingredient-condition pair.

A

AI-Assisted Extraction

PICO Data Extraction — Claude AI with human oversight

Study data (population, intervention, comparison, outcome) is extracted using AI assistance, then validated against source publications. Every extraction includes a confidence score and risk-of-bias assessment.

A

Algorithmic Grading Engine

Evidence Grading — Transparent, reproducible scoring system

Evidence grades (A through F) are calculated algorithmically based on study type quality, result consistency, total sample size, and number of studies. The grading algorithm is deterministic and reproducible.

Data Sources

Our research is built on data from the world's most authoritative biomedical databases.

PubMed / MEDLINE ↗

The U.S. National Library of Medicine's database of biomedical literature, containing over 36 million citations. Our primary source for identifying relevant clinical trials and systematic reviews.

PubMed Central (PMC) ↗

Full-text archive of biomedical journal articles. We import CC-BY licensed full-text papers via JATS XML, preserving sections, figures, tables, and reference lists for comprehensive analysis.

Semantic Scholar ↗

Allen Institute for AI's academic search engine. Used to enrich our paper database with citation counts and influence scores, helping assess the impact and reach of individual studies.

ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

U.S. National Library of Medicine's registry of clinical studies. Referenced for ongoing trials and registration verification of published study results.

The Cited Health Network

Cited Health Inc. operates a network of specialized supplement review sites, each focused on a specific health category. Every site in the network shares the same rigorous evidence grading methodology.
